About Us

Ward King Agnew, LLC is a small law firm located in Southern Indiana whose attorneys have practiced in both Kentucky and Indiana for over 38 years. Our practice focus is two-pronged: business law and estate law. Our business law practice ranges from contract law to administrative law to real estate, zoning and land use for clients as diverse as public utilities, telecommunications corporations, private companies, and non-profits. Our estate law practice encompasses both estate planning and administration.

Estate Planning and Administration

The goal of estate planning, estate administration and probate is to achieve the orderly transfer of assets while retaining family harmony. The firm assists clients of various levels of wealth in planning for the orderly transfer, at their deaths, of their assets. We ensure that assets will be transferred as they intended. We work with clients from all walks of life, in every phase of life, from pro bono clients referred to us as part of a volunteer program, to high-wealth individuals.

Energy and Utility Law

Whether you are an investor-owned, non-profit, or municipal utility, Ward King Agnew stands ready to provide you with the legal support necessary to comply with current utility regulations, to assist in contract negotiations, and to guide you through the complex ratemaking process. We can represent and advise you as you establish your rates with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) or the Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC).

Telecommunications Law

When a new cell tower goes up, there is a lot of legwork to be done. Titles pertaining to the cell tower must be cleared, there are zoning permits that must be obtained. FAA, FCC, EPA and state regulations must be examined and all plans for the new cell tower must be in compliance with these regulations. There are documents that must be filed with the public utilities commission pertaining to the cell tower placement. Easements and leases must be drawn up. Ward King Agnew has consulted and worked with multiple mobile telecommunications companies to provide the services they need, allowing them to move forward.

Real Estate Law

Whether involving retail centers, office buildings, hotels, apartment complexes, or vacant property slated for development, commercial real estate transactions are complex and involve large amounts of money.  If you are entering into a contract for the sale or lease of a commercial property or are attempting to resolve a real estate dispute, it is critical that you consult an experienced lawyer to protect your investment. The lawyers of Ward King Agnew have handled all manner of commercial real estate transactions, large and small, and have represented lienholders, banks, and property owners in real estate litigation.
